Locus Amoenus, our fourth sim, was formally opened yesterday to the public (and to anyone wishing to buy land in it!), with an inauguration ceremony devised by the New Guild (based on Etruscan, Greek, and Roman ceremonies inaugurating new cities).
Well attended, the formal opening finished with lots of Greek music, streamed by Naftali Torok.
Today, August 3, 2008, the Confederation of the Democratic Simulators opens formally its 9th term of constitutionally elected Representative Assembly members.
The RA members elected for this term are:

The booths for the July 2008 Elections are now open and available on every sim of the CDS.

Thanks to Linden Lab’s phasing out the old Class 3 servers, we got a brand new server to run Neufreistadt on top of it — a latest-generation Class 5 server!
This should allow us all to get more people on the sim at the same time. Oh yes, it will still lag on your client due to the heavy textures, of course… but at least the sim shouldn’t suffer so much!

Thanks to Extropia DaSilva’s airship, we managed to make a nice tour of the CDS, focusing on crossing Alpine Meadow often.
Linden Lab gave the CDS citizens a nice gift for Thanksgiving: the Alpine Meadow sim was delivered today! Minimal terraforming has been applied to the new sim to give you a rough idea on how it will look like. This is a view taken from Colonia Nova, looking up the immense slope towards the city walls of Neufreistadt!
To all of you interested in potentially buying a new plot in the Confederation of Democratic Simulators, the new sim — Alpine Meadow — has been approved and is currently accepting pre-orders.
