Neufreistadt Gets Much-Needed Upgrade!

Neufreistadt by night with WindLight and no clouds :)Thanks to Linden Lab’s phasing out the old Class 3 servers, we got a brand new server to run Neufreistadt on top of it — a latest-generation Class 5 server!

This should allow us all to get more people on the sim at the same time. Oh yes, it will still lag on your client due to the heavy textures, of course… but at least the sim shouldn’t suffer so much!

More information can be read on the forums.

CDS Freezes Over Into A Winter Wonderland

Neufreistadt, Alpine Meadow and Colonia Nova awoke draped all in white after the heaviest snowfall in their history -with even the mighty Rhenus river frozen over and transformed into a huge, fairy-tale skating ring (thanks to the efforts of Winter Events Organiser Rose Spirngvale and new CDS citizen and architect Satir DeCuir).

Shortly thereafter, and much to its surprise, a horde of penguins, polar bears and snowpeople - complete with iglus, sleighs, Christmas trees and bright lights, stars and flowers took up residence on the Old River God’s new-found crust and transformed the Rhenus valley into a Winter Wonderland worthy of the Brother Grimm’s Tales. Which should be entirely unsurprising with the mighty walls, crennels and turrets of Neufreistadt floating high up in the background, far above Appollo’s temple and the new Alpine Meadow Monastery.

Rhenus Frozen Over

Charmed by the new face of her home, ThePrincess Parisi wasted no time to throw a Skating and Snowball Fight Rezz Day Party together with a dozen of her closest friends -which goes to show that cold and ice can be hot and fun at the same time. A great time was had by all as our three sims seemed to seamlessy merge into a magical, snow-covered landscape to be enjoyed by us all.

So, now that even our sims have gotten into a festive holiday mood, it’s time to check out the list of amazing events and activities prepared for us by our dynamic and relentless Events Organizer, Rose Springvale:

“December 9 Gideon Kappler, baroque and classical piano, Kirke in NFS at 12 noon. I know this conflicts with RA time.. if you have a meeting that day i’ll stream the music to your location as well. Gideon is in Germany and this is as late as he would play. Cost, 6000 L. sponsored.

We are blessed to have such a spectacular landscape and such amazing Christmas plans in our own little corner of the (virtual) world. Let’s all come out, enjoy the fun, take part in the events and make this Christmas and New Year’s - the first one allowing us to ski, ride, cycle and (maybe!) swim from the Colonia Nova Amphitheatre to the Neufreistadt Mountaintop Valley - a holiday to remember…

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to One and All!
